Taking some packed food and water with you is highly recommended as the dining options are limited at the lakes area.

Hiking or walking shoes are necessary for safe hiking and comfort.

It is advisable to take warm clothes (hoodie or a fleece) even during summer as the temperatures at the lakes are lower at this altitude than in the cities. Temperatures can get as low as 5° even during the warm seasons.

Weather in the mountain is quite impredictable so do not forget to take a jacket (preferably waterproof) and/or a raincoat.

Hat, sunglasses and sunsceen are also recommended as the sun is quite strong at 2500m above sea level.

Do not forget to bring Bulgarian lev in cash with you as there is no ATM machine at the lakes.

Chairlift ticket costs 18 BGN leva per person (two-way ride).
Bottle of water (500ml), coffee, tea is about 1 BGN lev.

The ride with the chairlift is about 20 minutes each way.

In July, August and during the weekends the queue can get up to 60+ minutes waiting time so do not forget to take that into consideration when you plan your hiking.
