Lift operation (updated 07th October 2024)
The chair lift is currently closed for seasonal maintenance. There is no planned end-date of the maintenance (probably end of October)
Check again at this website for an up-date, later in October.
You can still reach the lakes on foot from the parking lot of the chair lift. The hike from the lower to the upper station takes on average 1h 45 min walking. The trail is on Google maps so you can use it as navigation.

The Seven Rila lakes are located high in Rila mountain in Bulgaria. With their crystal clear waters they are the most visited natural site in the country.
PLAN YOUR VISIT
7 Rila lakes are easily reachable from Sofia city by car , shuttle bus or public transport. Several hiking routes of medium difficulty allow to explore the 7 lakes in 1 day.
There are also several options for accommodation around the lakes area if you prefer to stay overnight in the mountain.
